1930's Pre-Cursor to the Snowmobile?

The following video is of an old newsreel-type silent film of the Fordsom Snow-Motor. It really looks like quite the invention. It was designed to allow tractors (any motor cars) to be able to navigate in deep snow. One can only wonder why it didn't catch on.

I look forward to Herrick's new, How to Build a Whizbang Snow-Motor!

Yep another Idea the the ruckies stole and made a whole lot faster. It is wicked fast in the snow and when it plowed over those trees... WOW!
